National transition and employment support for people with disability
The challenge
A large NGO had won a five-year Commonwealth Government contract to deliver a program supporting people with disability into employment. The
program had to be operationaised across ten sites in six states and territories, on a fixed timeframe.
For the people involved in the program any disruption could could create significnat anxiety and life changes. At a program level, disruption could break the service delivery and place the program (and contract) at risk.
The transition had to be seamless.
What we did
Umagine established and led the full transition, from planning through to go-live. We:
- set up the project and governance structures to steer the transition nationally;
- engaged internal and external stakeholders across every site;
- mobilised service teams and managed contracts;
- prepared each site for day one, including operational readiness and go-live logistics.
The outcome
- 120 people with disability, and their families, supported through the change process, with full choice and control.
- All operations, service functions and staff transitioned within the required timeframe.
- Seamless start to service delivery across all ten sites.
- Retained after go-live to bed down the program and deliver a growth strategy.
